Christmas is coming..

Have you had a great summer and put a few extra lbs or kilos on? Is your positive self-talk telling you to do something about it in time for Christmas? Is your negative self-talk telling you, “Oh well might as well wait until the new year now!”

Tricky one isn’t it? Our self-talk can hinder or help us. It is up to us to choose which self-talk we are going to listen to and more importantly act upon. It is also up to us as individuals to take responsibility for our actions.

I heard a few days ago that a group of overweight people in America had successfully sued a large burger chain for serving oversize portions! Can you believe it? Their claim was that they put on weight because of the oversize portions. I was flabbergasted!!

It was their choice to order the largest burger on the menu and the accompanying large portions of extras that came with the meal AND what’s more, it was their choice to EAT everything that was put in front of them!

Virtually everything we do is done by choice – OUR choice. Yes I am saying that being overweight is a choice. I know because I have been there. It wasn’t until I totally recognised AND accepted that my size was down to the past choices I had made, that I then chose to do something about it.

The amazing thing is, is once I had made that conscious choice I began to release the weight and to release it easily. That was over three years ago.

The benefits of releasing that excess weight (35 kilos – 5 ½ stones) which has stayed off, have been enormous!! Far bigger than a super-sized burger and chips!

The benefits include:

• Better health – which means a reduction in prescribed medications

• Better financial health – eating healthily impacts on your finances far more than you realise

• Feeling good – increased energy

• Increased desire – to get up and do things

• Increased confidence – when people pay you compliments as they see you releasing weight the psychological benefits kick in

• Psychological benefits – you feel better, your confidence, self-esteem and self-worth increase – this has a knock on effect in other areas of your life such as relationships, work, family, exercise

• You look good – clothes that fit you take on a new meaning and you stop hiding in dark coloured oversized clothing (which far from making you look slimmer as is believed – accentuate your size!!)

Need to Lose WeightThese are just some of the benefits of releasing excess weight, the list goes on………..

Of course, once I had totally recognised AND accepted as well as taken responsibility for being overweight, I then had to make another choice: the choice of taking action.

You see whilst taking the above step was a step in the direction, unless I did the next step of taking action, guess what would have happened? Correct!!! I would have stayed overweight- simple!

Taking action involves change. This change involves doing something – if you do nothing, nothing will change.

As a Personal Health and Wellness Practitioner and Transformational Coach, I am passionate about what I do, because what I do involves changing people’s lives. I work with people to enable them to release the pain they are carrying whether that is physical or emotional pain, and yes that includes the pain of being overweight.

So, back to Christmas.   At the time of writing there are ONLY 20 days, 7 hours and 39 minutes until Christmas 2013.

You have a choice to continue on the path you are on if you are carrying excess weight, and to carry the pain and misery that that causes, or you can choose to do something and take action and make this your best ever Christmas!

If you want this Christmas to be relaxed and enjoyable around food, the people you are with and you really want to feel better in yourself and in your health, then the time to commit to and to take action as well as take responsibility is NOW!  Not January!

• Just image as Christmas approaches, you are releasing the excess weight and beginning to feel much better all round

• Just imagine how different your Christmas AND life will be

• Just imagine how your new found happiness will positively affect those around you and their Christmas

How FUNtastic would that be?
